Osmanlının Zafer Sayfaları
“Considering the great operations and battles carried out by the Ottomans, the principles of war and the subtlety of military virtues that were the basis of Ottoman victories require careful research. The Ottomans implemented the operational principles, which are considered the key to success in contemporary warfare, in a period when firearms and war equipment were in a primitive state. They showed great skill in leading and moving large and formidable armies. The honor belongs to the Ottomans, especially for forming a perfect and permanent army that can be considered an example to be imitated in Europe, and for perfecting the essential elements of victory, such as obedience, discipline, order and discipline, and the knowledge of supplies and warfare.
One of the reasons that enabled the Ottomans to achieve brilliant victories and knowledge that caused great changes in the history of nations was the brave genius of their commanders. The bravery that the Ottoman sultans showed on the battlefield with the bravery and majesty typical of warriors created such an elixir of victory that in most battles it was seen that the small force of the Ottoman Empire prevailed over the larger forces. Fatih, who was always victorious, tried to open a fountain of victory for the Ottoman veterans fighting on the waves of the sea by riding his steed with great majesty towards the waves, and the paradise-place of His Excellency Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan swaying his horse of bravery and courage against the cowardly soldiers who complained about the hardships of war.
"If
you don't go, I'll go alone!" The fact that he embodied a heroic example of greatness worthy of Hazrat Ali with his self-sacrificing address is considered one of the wonders of bravery that adorn the victory pages of the Ottoman Empire.
Among the great victories that adorn the military history of the Ottoman Empire, he is considered one of the "seven wonders of victories". The so-called Battles of Kosovo, Nicopolis, Varna, the Siege and Conquest of Istanbul, the Battles of Chaldiran and Mohaç, and the Battle of Haçova. The political and military consequences of the mentioned victories have caused many great changes in the history of nations. "It is one of the extraordinary victories that cannot be encountered in the military history of the state."
In this work, Ahmed Refik wrote about the important victories of our military history in detail and by referring to many sources.
