Osmanlı'nın Kürt Siyaseti (1876-1909)
At the Crossroads of Tribalism, Nationalism and Islamism
KURDISH POLITICS OF THE OTTOMAN (1876-1909)
This book, II. He focused on the Kurdish policy implemented during the reign of Abdulhamid II and tried to combine the empirical data provided by primary sources with the epistemological information provided by social sciences. The study evaluates the continuities and ruptures in Ottoman-Kurdish relations in the light of traditional state/society and modern state/society paradigms by making analogies and comparisons. He tried to place Abdulhamid's Kurdish Policy both on the regional and world levels.
Book, II. While focusing on Abdülhamid's Kurdish policy, he also touched upon the historical transformations of the Ottoman social structure, underlined the changes experienced by the empire in the process as it made reform attempts towards modernization, and concentrated on the effects of the changes in objective conditions on the Kurdish policy of the Ottoman Empire.
II. On the one hand, Abdulhamid tried to improve his relations with Kurdish tribal leaders and sheikhs against the Armenian threat, and on the other hand, he struggled to connect the Kurds to the Ottoman Empire, in fact to himself, through education in the nationalist age of the modernizing world.
II. Abdulhamid took the spirit of the time into consideration, made the idea of Islamism, which included Ottomanism, his main policy, and tried to include the Kurds, along with other Muslim elements of the Ottoman Empire, as a part of this policy.
