I Buried Death, I'm Coming
Edip Cansever, one of the radically innovative poets of Turkish poetry, composed long, dramatic poems in seven of the seventeen books he published, and evolved lyrical poetry into a polyphonic, polyphonic narrative by mobilizing the possibilities of prose and drama. Cansever, who "did not accumulate unnecessary excitement" in the years when homogenizing heroism was in vogue, created an alternative ecology from characters considered different, and increased our capacity for empathy by dissecting the marginalized people.
In I Buried Death, I'm Coming, Devrim Dirlikyapan examines the poet's seven books in the context of "dramatic monologue". Taking Cansever's views and previous criticisms into account, he analyzes the decor and objects of the poems and determines their original parameters. According to Dirlikyapan's in-depth reading, the Phoenix image underlying these dramatic poems evolves in each book. On the other hand, this poetry adventure was mixed with literary figures such as Rimbaud, Rilke, Kafka, Eliot, Beckett, Camus, Berger and painters such as Bruegel, Picasso and Chagall. Perhaps Cansever is a Cubist poet. It is Adam who lifts the corpses while the fetuses carry their heavy coffins.
