Returning to Berlin from the hell of the Eastern Front in September 1941, Bernie Günther will find himself in a different hell.
Bernie, who continues to work at Kripo, is summoned to Prague by SS General Reinhard Heydrich while investigating the death of a Dutch railway worker. Knowing that there are high-ranking members of the SS and SD at Heydrich's house in Prague, Bernie reluctantly has to accept this invitation. But on the night of his arrival in Prague, a murder committed at home confronts Bernie with a mystery that seems impossible to solve.
