Reader's Memory is the first book in Turkish about WG Sebald, who is considered the first great writer of the 21st century! While discussing the "Sebald phenomenon", Cem Ileri reads the author together with Walter Benjamin. It reveals how Benjamin's Passages, his philosophy of history, his criticism of modernity, and his writing style that oscillates between essay and thought, affect the work of "Benjamin's reader Sebald". Reader's Memory deals with subjects such as history, memory, memory, time, space, trauma, genocide, immigration, accompanied by conceptualizations such as visual subconscious, involuntary memory, photographic reproduction, dialectical image, aura, allegory and shock, also specific to Benjamin. While dealing with it, it turns into a kind of fictional meta-reading in which different reader memories proceed side by side.

"Reader's Memory is a novelesque reading attempt. Cem Ileri manages to place his reading on a slippery, yet solid ground based on associations. Ileri carries Benjamin and Sebald both side by side and opposite each other. Eiffel and station connections are decisive here: From Benjamin to Sebald" A square bridge(s), the extraordinary weave of iron beams in the void, and the noisy, tick-tock road of the rails leading to the end, this volunteer neither starts nor ends anywhere. , the desired, targeted journey has been eerily transferred from his life to his death. It is as if Cem Ileri sat next to him (or behind him, in the backseat?) before the accident, talked and wrote, a conversation that is very rare in our writing universe.
