He was born in Nusaybin district of Mardin. He completed his primary and secondary education here. He left school and did political work with the political movements in the 90s. Due to his political activities
He was arrested in 1991 and spent 10 years in prison. After his release, he became the editor-in-chief of Ütopya magazine. Many of his articles and poems were published in various newspapers and magazines. His poems were set to music.
