Muhakemat (Medium Size)
The book Muhakemat is one of the rare works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, written in 1911. The work was actually written as an introduction and preface to the commentary of İşaratü'l-İ'caz, as stated by the Master. The Arabic version of the work, which was published as Muhakemat or Saykalü'l-İslâmiyet in Turkish, was also published as Reçetetü'l-Ulema or Reçetetü'l-Havas in the same years (1911-1912).
When the Master named his book Reçetetü'l-Ulema (Medical prescription for scholars), he points out that especially his contemporary scholars should carefully read the subjects that constitute the content of the book. The book presents to the reader the issues and narrations that led to some wrong thoughts, interpretations and evaluations in the tafsir, kalam and other books written by Islamic scholars until that period, after investigating them with scientific methods and passing them through a mental filter. Likewise, it presents some of the thoughts and views that have been transferred to Islamic philosophers from Western philosophical and cultural sources, through fine-tuning of the Islamic creed, in a clear form in the light of the Book and the Sunnah, for the benefit of the children of the time.
The subjects covered in the book are addressed entirely to those with knowledge and wisdom. Convincing answers are given to those who attack the Islamic creed, using a subtle, subtle and wise style and language. However, we think it would not be wrong to say that the book is at a level that exceeds that of those who have Islamic cultural background and that it appeals especially to those who specialize in certain subjects. As a matter of fact, Master Bediuzzaman Said Nursi also points out the same points and states that this book is not easy to understand and makes the following warning under the title of admonishment in the introduction of Arabic Muhakemat : “O person who reads this book called Reçetetü'l-Havas (Recipe for distinguished scholars) ! First of all, what you need is not to rush while reading this book. "What you do not know or do not understand, you need to ask those who know."
