Mir Bedirhan
The book titled Mir Bedirhan, written by Kürdizade Ahmed Ramiz, is about the short story of the rebellion, resistance and exile of Botan Miri Bedirhan Bey, the last of the Miri rulership system in Kurdistan, against the Ottomans in 1846-47. At the same time, after the death of Bedirhan Bey, the second great exile of the Bedirhans due to the murder of Istanbul Mayor Rıdvan Pasha in 1906 is also described in detail, based on the reports of family members.
The book Mir Bedirhan, written and narrated by Ahmed Ramiz, is based mainly on the following sources: Kurdish history called Şerefname written by Şerefhan Bey, what he heard from the members of the Bedirhan family who were still alive at that time; The history of Botan Mirs, published serially under the title "Azizan" from the 8th issue of the Kurdistan newspaper, and especially the long article written in Kurdish under the title "Bedirhan Bey" in the 13th issue, and Mehmed Selahaddin's book titled Bir Turkish Diplomat's Evrâk-ıpolitikyesi.
It is the first work written on the Mir Bedirhan movement based on living primary sources and was published in 1907 on behalf of the Kurdistan Azm-i Kavi Society. He uses the pseudonym Kürdizade Ahmed Ramiz Lütfü and explains his purpose as follows: "My aim is not to write the history of Kurdistan, but only to write the translation of the situation of His Excellency Mir Bedirhan and a section of these thirty years of oppression and injustice."
