Minima Moralia
Minima Moralia is Adorno's masterpiece. He has brought together all the areas he is interested in in this book - sometimes in a single fragment of a few pages: Philosophy, daily life, politics and the history of the labor movement, literature and music, psychology, Fascism, racism and war. It can also be seen as a polemical book: It deals with all these issues, sometimes openly and sometimes implicitly, with systems of thought against which it takes a critical stance (for example, existentialism or psychoanalysis) and thinkers such as Heidegger. Adorno's unique method finds its strongest expression in this book: A single event or object that may seem insignificant at first glance (for example, astrology) appears under Adorno's lens as a cipher explaining major historical trends. In his introduction he says: "The starting point in all three chapters of the book is the private sphere in its narrowest form... From here we move on to thoughts with more obvious social and anthropological dimensions; these are related to psychology, aesthetics and science in its relationship with the subject. Aphorisms at the end of each chapter And he develops these thoughts towards philosophy." But it is also possible to enter these parts of the book from any part: Adorno himself said somewhere in this book that his aim was to reach "a writing whose every point is at the same distance from the center". ...
