Milat - Lale Müldür
The "Milat" exhibition brings together the paintings that poet Lale Müldür has been working on recently. These paintings, bearing the traces of the images that appear in Müldür's poems, suggest new encounters with the poet's world.
In the "Milat" exhibition, which can be visited between 22 September and 31 October 2020, the colors, gestures and figures of the imaginary space invited by Lale Müldür's poems are reinterpreted in a pictorial production. The figure is one of the main elements that stands out in the paintings exhibited. Many of these figures are portraits of the poet's friends.
At the same time, among these portraits there are artists with whom the poet has spiritual closeness, such as Albrecht Durer. Müldür's paintings share commonality with his poems that begin with dedications to his friends and relatives or that he writes to them. The exhibition, which takes its name from Milat, the first poem of Lale Müldür's last book "It Was Dangerous, I Knew It", is also nourished by the artist's desire to think about a breaking point in her production.
The "Milat" exhibition, curated by Yapı Kredi Culture and Art Exhibitions Director Kevser Güler, will be accompanied by online events. The exhibition also has an exhibition book published by Yapı Kredi Publications. Ulaş Uğur designed the book, which will include a selection of Lale Müldür's poems, an interview with Fisun Yalçınkaya and a text by Kevser Güler.
