Matmazel Noralyanın Koltuğu
Ferit, who cannot explain some of the extraordinary events he encounters with the principles of the materialist and positivist philosophy he has adopted, and who suffers from doubts, hesitations and depression, is a university student who left the medical school and moved to the philosophy department, but does not go there regularly due to his hesitant mood. Ferit stays in a hostel in Yüksekkaldırım, where strange people live. The extraordinary events he encountered during the six days he stayed in the hostel and the arguments he had with his girlfriend Selma worsen the situation of Ferit, who is going through a serious psychological crisis. Aziz, whom he meets at the hostel, becomes Ferit's biggest supporter during these troubled days. Ferit, who received a large inheritance after the mysterious death of his aunt, rents a house on the Island with Aziz's advice in order to overcome the trauma he experienced. This house belongs to Mademoiselle Noraliya, a mysterious woman who died a year ago. Peyami Safa's novel, Mademoiselle Noraliya's Chair, which he stated that he liked the most among his novels, is accepted by all critics as the most serious psychological novel of Turkish literature in terms of narrative technique and plot.
