Lyon'da Düğün
The Wedding in Lyon is the story of a love that gives hope to people approaching death in the days of turmoil and oppression during the French Revolution. In 1793, the prison where the counter-revolutionaries waiting to be shot in the city were gathered, became the scene of a strange wedding. Two Lonely People brings together two desperate people who are suffering. As the scream from one's heart finds its response in the other's, they unknowingly end each other's years of loneliness. Wondrak is one of the author's anti-war works. In a small city of Bohemia, a woman who was constantly ridiculed for her ugliness clung to life thanks to the child she gave birth to after being raped, but because of the outbreak of the First World War, her son was taken away from her by being drafted into the army. In these stories, Zweig analyzes the human condition through characters who are excluded from society. What the characters go through is not "fate" but the result of humanity's bankruptcy.
