It is a very common type of virus in our country, as well as all over the world. So what are the symptoms? How does it progress by covering a certain body or geography? Is there any solution? Samir Amin's The Liberal Virus, subtitled "Permanent War and the Americanization of the World", is a concise and effective book that seeks answers to these questions. The book, which begins by discussing the liberal understanding of society, the ideological foundations of liberalism and postmodernism, progresses by focusing on the promises of globalized liberalism and the threats of today's liberalism. Liberal Virus, which also discusses how American imperialism established and reinforced its dominance in the world, focuses on the possibility that this system of exploitation, which destroys natural resources and pushes the masses into increasing poverty, may follow a more barbaric path than previous periods. The second part of the book, titled "World System in Transformation" and available only in the Turkish edition, begins with an examination of institutions and organizations such as the IMF, WTO and the EU. Then, future scenarios in the face of the new wave of globalization are discussed, what kind of alternative suggestions can be made in the midst of conflicts and wars, and whether it is possible to "establish a multipolar democratic world" is evaluated.
