Kurdish Question-Social Democratic Approaches

The Kurdish problem, one of the main problems of our country, has been waiting for a solution for years.

AKP has been in power for 17 years. He came to power with the promise of "advanced democracy" and aggravated the problems even more after saying "The Kurdish issue is our issue."

Instead of parliamentary democracy, an oppressive one-man regime called the "Presidential Government System" - unique in the world - was established. With this system, freedoms of expression, criticism, press, demonstration and association were destroyed. With the abolition of the separation of powers, the rule of law became a showpiece.

In this environment, while fundamental problems, including the Kurdish problem, become more severe, the political power ignores the problems.

Because the Kurdish issue is a problem of democracy and equal citizenship; It cannot be solved by ignoring freedoms, democracy and the will of the people. Solution; It will become possible with a libertarian, pluralist democracy based on human rights.

The results of the 31 March 2019 Local Elections showed that those days are not far away. We believe that the work done by CHP for years will guide the solution of the Kurdish problem in an environment of democracy, peace and trust.
