Kore Nire

Kore Nire offers a slice of Turkey in the 1950s. One of the first practices of the Bayar-Menderes team, which came to power with great hopes, was to send troops to Korea to prove that it was a loyal collaborator and thus enter NATO. Turkey lost 19 thousand of its children as dead, wounded and missing during its three-year (1950-53) Korean adventure.

In this novel, Fahri Erdinç shows the painful consequences of this unjust war in which Turkey participated. Thus, at that time, 15 thousand kilometers away from Turkey, he unmasks those who said "we are going to defend the homeland against the communist attack" and reveals the truth of those who exploited the religious feelings of the masses with the demagoguery of "it is better to go to Korea and become a martyr by fighting on behalf of the Americans than to die of malaria in the village." .
