Elmas also extended her bandaged arms to the baby. Afraid of hurting himself, Bayram quietly left his son in Elmas' arms. Now Elmas and Öksüz were nose to nose. They were sniffing like a female animal and her cub, rubbing their noses together, burrowing into each other's necks and making strange purring noises. The baby's little hands were wandering around Elmas's hair, and Elmas's lips were wandering over the baby's face.
