Communist Manifesto and Articles About It (Hardcover)
The Communist Manifesto is one of the most important program documents of scientific socialism. “The weight of this little booklet is equal to many volumes. It is his spirit that has given life and movement to the entire organized and fighting proletariat in the civilized world to this day.” (Lenin)
The first edition of the Communist Manifesto, written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as the program of the Communist League, was published in 23 pages in London in February 1848. Since then, numerous editions of the Manifesto have been published in major world languages, and it continues to be the subject of widespread interest today. This compilation, presented by Yordam Kitap to readers on the 160th anniversary of its publication, includes a new translation of the Manifesto by Nail Satlıgan and articles on the Manifesto. Paul Sweezy, Aijaz Ahmad, İrfan Habib, Prakash Karat, Ellen Meiksins Wood, Parabhat Patnaik and Anwar Shaikh, together with Metin Çulhaoğlu, Ertuğrul Kürkçü and Sungur Savran from Turkey, evaluate this historical document through today's eyes. The book, which also includes the first Turkish translation of the Manifesto by Şefik Hüsnü as a historical document, is presented with a foreword by Rasih Nuri İleri, one of Turkey's senior socialists.
