Winter Journey and the Stories That Follow It Book Description: A truly unique, extraordinary literary fiction, a plural narrative, a "hyper-novel" from the authors of Georges Perec and Oulipo. The story of the journey began in 1979. That year, Perec wrote a story called Winter Journey. This was the story of an "impossible" book woven with verses and lines that "should not have been written yet." A masterpiece that, if "real", would reduce the history of world literature to a gigantic case of "previous plagiarism". In 1992, the course of the journey took a completely different turn: Oulipoist Jacques Roubaud wrote a continuation story to Winter Journey. This story, which follows the Winter Journey, was the first of twenty stories to be written by Oulipo writers in the following years. These follower stories eventually turned into one of the rare examples of its kind, a great literary experiment, Winter Journey and Pursuing Stories. Today, forty-two years after Perec's story, this journey reaches a new, different stop. Turkey's leading translators, who came together at the invitation of Ayberk Erkay, become the voices of this plural creation in Turkish and participate in this famous Oulipo journey.
