Although Rümüz-ül Edeb is a kind of literary history, Lehçe-t-ül Hakayik is a kind of history of thoughts. This new 2nd volume of Kirk Ambar is much more complete, in which the topics discussed in the second part of Kirk Ambar, which was published in 1980 and had a single edition, are enriched with new topics, and the content of the book called The Story of a Tragedy, published once in Ankara in 1981, is added to these topics. A comprehensive and completely revised version. Many of the topics discussed by Cemil Meriç remain current today, and it is still possible to benefit from the diversity of those topics and some of the ideas they contain. Cemil Meriç invites his reader, once again, to "think about the thoughts of those who think, and then to get rid of their influence and think with his own mind and not be a slave to any opinion." Isn't it "an alert consciousness, a vigilant attention and an inquisitiveness that tries to embrace the whole of truth" that makes an intellectual an intellectual?
