Resentment is a narrative that follows the path of incompletely experienced feelings, lives and stories. It is a narrative that discusses the importance of storytelling and character in the art of the novel, starting from the flexibility, invisibility, but also rigidity of the bond between fiction and reality, and focusing on language.

In Resentment , Nihan Kaya proceeds by establishing a harmony between the feelings that people experience incompletely and hidden and the flow of the text. It presents sections from the lives of people whose fate is unknown, like hidden feelings. Resentment is a collection of recent history woven around missing children, dead children, memories that change and become legendary as they reach from word to mouth, those who stand alone, those who are alone. Incomplete experiences make themselves visible in the incomplete stories.

“I wrote my troubles on all the papers I found. I filled out all the papers at the station, sealed them and sent them off. I sent my troubles to windowless sailors like me in remote places who need three words, to wretched novelists who live in attics out of necessity and need a penny like me, to helpless messengers who do three somersaults for three steps. If one day you come across what I have written on a wall, in a book, on a piece of glass or a piece of cloth, please listen to my voice. I am Osman Ali. I am nineteen years old."
