King Kong Teori

King Kong Theory, written by Goncourt Academy member author and screenwriter Virginie Despentes in 2006, made a big impact in France when it was published. The text, in which she blended her personal experiences such as rape-related trauma, prostitution, and discovery of porn film circles, her transition to the identity of a "female writer" and her thoughts about life, was seen as a "new feminism manifesto".

Despentes, who analyzes the ways of repression of femininity and masculinity and the subtle networks in the establishment of power relations, one by one, throws everything that bourgeois conformism does not like to express and wants to ignore, in the face of society.

King Kong Theory, which has been adapted to the theater many times and translated into world languages, is an honest, brutal, intelligent and provocative text written by a female King Kong with boxing gloves, that does not beat around the bush, expresses everything clearly, in all its nakedness, hates the conformism of theory and stays away.
