The issue of city and urbanization has become an increasingly discussed agenda today with its social, political and economic aspects; This is why Henri Lefebvre's works are being referenced more and their importance is increasing. Urban Revolution is Lefebvre's first work that puts Space at the center of social analysis. In this respect, it is a fundamental text for sociology, Marxist analysis and radical politics, as well as for studies on space and the city.

Starting with the hypothesis of "urbanization of society as a whole", Lefebvre argues that the concept of city, which has always been considered within the rural-urban contradiction, has disappeared, and that the emerging "urban society" should be seen as a complex research in which new interpretations and approaches should be developed; He argues that the city should be at the center of social analysis and practices and should not be limited to the problem of urbanization. By placing it at the center of not only consumption and reproduction, but also capitalist production, it detaches the social-political struggle from the production-factory coupling and moves it to the production-city scale and vision. It rejects the cold and modernist approach to urbanization/urbanization based on commodification, market and bureaucratization, and underlines the live experiences of the city's residents.

The urban myth imagines an Urban Revolution against stereotyped forms and formalism, in which original social relations, self-determination and individual creativity come to the fore.
