While Celal Bayar tells about his days in Kayseri Prison, where he stayed for about three years, he also shares his memories of Yassıada by flashbacks.

During this repair, the trees in the courtyard were cut down, and black stones from the time when Erciyes was blazing were laid on the ground - in the style of cobblestones. While we were walking on these irregular black stones, lifting our heads up between the four walls, begging for fresh air from the blue sky, a small "sprout" caught our attention. Samet took this sprout under his protection, protected it, and took care of it to grow. The sprout had sprung from the root of a cut tree. I measured it, it was exactly three spans tall, its leaves dried in the winter fell off, and green buds appeared in their place. This situation reminded me that spring has begun outside. I thought: Our cities, famous for the beauty of the Istanbul spring, came to life in my mind as heaven. When I returned to my room, Bahadır Dülger, who came from Kayseri Hospital for examination, said, "Spring has come, it's green outside." “And I realized that this sprout was not deceiving me.”
