Kastamonu Lahika is the second period annexes of Risale-i Nur. Between 1936 and 1943, when these appendixes were written, Master Bediuzzaman was residing under guard in Kastamonu. A significant part of the master's exile life in Kastamonu coincided with the years of the Second World War. The letters in the Kastamonu Lahika are the heirlooms of these years.
Unfortunately, the letters that Master Bediüzzaman wrote at certain periods do not bear dates. We would like to have information about the month, day and year in which these letters were written. Unfortunately, we do not have this information. However, the periodic dates of the Lahika Letters can be deduced from the Master's years of exile. A second important issue is that the Master's letters have been published until today without being subject to a certain classification and order. Since the letters do not have a chronological writing date, they are not classified according to any specific criteria. Zehra Publishing, encouraged by the Master's references to the Nur students regarding commentary, explanation, organization and classification in Risale-i Nur publications, has subjected the letters in the Kastamonu Lahika to a new classification. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi says the following in a letter regarding this issue in the Kastamonu Addendum: “Your duty continues. And God willing, your duty is to explain and explain, to complete and explain, to publish and teach, perhaps to compile the Twenty-Fifth and Thirty-Second Letters, to complete the Nine Stations of the Ninth Ray, and to arrange, organize, interpret and correct the Risale-i Nur. to be continued."
In the Kastamonu Lahika prepared by our publishing house, Master Bediuzzaman's letters and the letters written by Nur students are collected in two separate sections. The Master's letters in the first section are classified under four different headings according to the subjects they contain.
