Signs are accumulating that the public, in cooperation with the ratings-hungry media, is increasingly and steadily approaching the point of "weariness of the refugee tragedy". Drowned children, hastily erected walls, barbed wire, overcrowded concentration camps and governments vying to treat immigrants as nuisances, narrow escapes and the nerve-wracking dangers of traveling for safety; All these moral travesties are less newsworthy than ever and appear in the “news” less and less frequently.
