"The Deck of Cards includes selected pieces from the long stories in Last Istanbul, In Front of Kaf Mountain, Kirk Room with Three Mirrors and Kirk Room with Seven Doors, in the chronological order in which they appear before the reader. When we reshuffle the deck in this way, the feature that gives the short story its power seems to emerge: a kind of ache of life caused by incompleteness and unfinishedness... This selection is also a kind of playbook: an intra-literary game that aims to provoke rethinking on the inputs and outputs of literature... I am shuffling the deck again so that the lives, destinies and coincidences of the people who cross paths at the game table are mixed up. Everyone should have more than one chance in life.
