Iphigenia in Aulis - Hardcover Book
Euripides (c.484-406 BC): He has a special place as the artist whose most works have survived to the present day among the three great tragic poets produced by Athens. This feature is attributed to the fact that he was a more admired poet among the public, even though he did not win the first prize at the festivals as much as Aeschylus and Sophocles. The heroes of Euripides' plays have human weaknesses and flaws, and the tragedies they experience arise from these flaws and their passions that they cannot give up.
Euripides can be considered a classical poet, or the first of the modern poets, who produced works closest to contemporary theatre. Iphigenia Aulis, one of Euripides' most famous tragedies, was staged by his namesake son after the poet's death and brought him his fifth first place in competitions. In her work, the poet Iphigenia Aulis, based on the legend of Troy, deals with the ethical duties of man towards the gods and his homeland and his sacrifice for an ideal, with a mastery befitting the title of "philosopher of the scenes".
