This book, titled "Rules for the Human Garden" by the German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk, one of the most important and original thinkers of our day, is actually a text he wrote as a response to Heidegger's "Letter on Humanism". Sloterdijk turns today's societies into a zoo. He is a philosopher who alludes to Plato and Nietzsche and claims that humans have been "tamed" and thus alienated from their true essence, and that humanism does not take this into consideration.

These views, which were expressed by Sloterdijk first at a conference on humanism and then at a meeting of philosophers, and which were a continuation of Althusser and Levi-Strauss' philosophies regarding "the end of humanism", were published in Germany with the contribution of journalists' efforts to produce striking news on a subject with which they were unfamiliar. It caused a great sensation and formed the axis of the conflict called the Sloterdijk-Habermas debate in 1999.

What was the essence of Sloterdijk's views and what was the philosopher saying? While Heidegger gives up on imagining the human being as an endlessly revalued and domesticated animal and tries to explain the human being with the concepts of "Being", Sloterdijk considers the human being as a biological being and argues that the human being has failed in being an animal and living as an animal, and bio-political or he believed that the superhuman was now within reach thanks to genetic engineering...

With this first text published as a book in Turkey, Sloterdijk invites our country's readers to think outside the usual patterns and question even the most reliable concepts...
