Iliad - Hasan Ali Yücel Classics

Homer (c. IXth century BC): Although there is no definite information about his life, he was born in the IXth century BC. It is thought that he lived on Chios Island in the century BC. Homer, whose works were considered the source of all kinds of knowledge in the ancient Greek states, has managed to influence almost all types of literature until today with his epics Iliad and Odyssey. In the Iliad, the most famous Ancient Greek epic, a fifty-one-day part of the Trojan War, which lasted nine years, is described. Iliad is one of the cornerstones of world literature, as well as the most realistic work that sheds light on the period it is about. This unique epic was almost considered a holy book in Ancient Greece. Between 1958 and 1962, with the translation of Azra Erhat - A. Kadir, I?s? Published in four volumes by Bankasi Kültür Yayınları, I?lyada takes its place in the Hasan Âli Yücel Classics Series after 50 years.
