İki Şehrin Hikayesi
"It was the best of all time, maybe the worst..."
The events described in The Tale of Two Cities take place in exactly such a time period. The cruelty inflicted on the people by the royalists and nobles before the French Revolution, and the suffering inflicted on the nobles by those who carried out the revolution, are presented to the reader through a gripping story that took place in Paris and London.
Dr. settled in London after being unjustly imprisoned for 18 years in the Bastille Prison, which was raided when the French Revolution began. Manette's daughter Lucie falls in love with Charles Darnay, who hides that he belongs to a noble French family. Dr. learned on the wedding day that his son-in-law, who sided with the people and therefore changed his name, was a nobleman. Manette will be surprised at what he has come across. When the French Revolution took place, Charles Darnay, who could not hide his nobility, would be thrown into Paris prisons. Difficult times await Lucie and Charles.
A Tale of Two Cities, written by Charles Dickens (1812-1870) to be serialized in newspapers, is among the best-selling works of all time.
