Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918): Not much is known about his childhood, except that he was the son of a Polish immigrant and an Italian officer. When he came to Paris when he was 20, he was in the middle of avant-garde movements and shaped his poetry. He was wounded in the head during World War I and died two years later. Wanderer of Two Shores is a love letter to Paris and its art scene in the early 1900s, as well as a modest tribute to the scenery and actors that time and life are constantly changing.
