Homeros , İlyada
Italian writer Alessandro Baricco, whom we know with his works called The Castles of Silk, City and Anger, embarks on an unexpected and surprising writing adventure in Homer, Iliad, published in 2004. It reinterprets an epic created centuries ago, Homer's Iliad, in a form that can be read before a contemporary audience. Without destroying any scene entirely, but by omitting common repetitions and every scene in which the gods appear. When the sections of this giant epic of ancient times in which the gods frequently intervene to direct events are removed, the reader comes face to face with an extremely secular structure. The story takes on a humanistic character and the heroes of the epic are left alone with their fate. With Baricco's interventions, the Iliad epic turns into a contemporary novel. Just as György Lukacs said: The novel is the epic of the world abandoned by the gods.
