Hikayede Büyük Boşluklar Var
When I opened my eyes, I was in bed. But this wasn't my bed. I was buried in the middle of the soft, light colored quilt. There were white lights above me. My eyes dazzled with pain. I took my gaze away from the blinding whiteness of the spotlights and looked to my right. Shopping customers... I looked to my left. Shoppers again... I was in the middle of a large store. On one of the two-person beds displayed for display purposes... It was as if I had wandered into the product catalog and reached for the first piece of furniture I came across. I was on a derelict, for-sale bed.
Hakan Biçakci tells about people wandering around, appearing and disappearing, talking in whispers. It depicts small obsessions, meaningless panics, defeats, people passing by. Strange guilts, maybe the girl reading Sartre, the expanding sky, bridge traffic, white tablecloths, headaches, coincidences, buzzing, Istanbul, the subway...
There are Big Gaps in the Story, confusing, memory-searching Biçakci stories… Dreams are Paris, Realities are Eminönü…
