Hey God's Oppressors
Hey Allah'ın Zalımları - Cemal Taş
Cemal Taş, known for his studies on Dersim, brings together interviews with both “inside” and “outside” witnesses in “Hey Allah’ın Zalimları” (Hey Allah’ın Zalimları), and presents a rich panorama of the “destructive” scope of the operations carried out by the state in Dersim in 1937 and 1938.
The work, which is a sequel to The Lost Key of the Mountains, reveals the importance of understanding and telling Dersim '38 through witnesses and testimonies. Because the heartbreaking narratives of those who lost their closest ones, those who bore the "bayonet wound" themselves, and those who were displaced from their homes are complemented in the book by the testimonies of those who served in Dersim at that time.
This oral history study, which includes many details about Dersim society and culture, is an important contribution to the struggle for confrontation, reckoning and justice...
“A very important difference of this study (...) is (...) the voices from the 'outside', that is, the testimonies of those who were in Dersim at that time due to state duty. Thus, a source set that is almost impossible to access is shared with the reader thanks to this book.”
