“Yılmaz Odabaşı is an impressive poet who goes against the common understanding in Turkey..." - Guardian Daily

“We were a little afraid of Nâzim Hikmet, so we did not write poems. Yılmaz Odabaşı has written powerful verses of these lands since the 80s" - Yaşar Kemal

"If you listen to our songs, read and hear your poems, we are actually shouldering each other... No lie, we love you and your poetry." -Ahmet Kaya

In this book by Yilmaz Odabasi, eleven poetry books scattered throughout his 34-year poetry adventure are presented together for the first time. Crowds in the Fog (1985), Homeless Poems (1987), Song of the Same Sky (1989), Feride (1990), Every Life is Shot from Its Own Youth (1992), Ticket to Hell (1995), Love is Offended on Us (1997), For a Stolen Judgment Ahval (1999), Ey Hayat (2000), Bugulu Atlas (2002), Tell Me Forbidden Words (2014).

Yılmaz Odabaşı has been among the original, loved and widely read poets of the 80's generation in our poetry since the first years of his writing. His poems, which create a simple and imaginatively dense language that can be considered as the combination of Ahmed Arif's epic and mountainous voice and Attila Ilhan's urban lyricism, had a great impact on the young generation of poetry readers from the early 1980s to the 2000s.

The poet won many awards with the poems in this book. With poems that have been translated into various languages and interpreted by many composers, especially Ahmet Kaya, and engraved in the memories of millions, EVERY LIFE IS STRIKED BY ITS OWN YOUTH is a candidate to be a reference book.
