Hemşerilik ve Şehirde Siyaset Keçiören Örneği
Local politics: A network of relationships that remains in the shadow of "big" "national" politics but penetrates the daily lives of millions of people... This network of relationships in cities and towns also forms the capillaries of that "big" politics. In this book, Ayça Kurtoğlu examines how politics "works" in the big city environment. In the Ankara-Keçiören example. It goes beyond the standard categories that dominate the language of real politics, journalism, and established political science, and looks at how local political relations provide socialization. For example, we see how social ties and affiliations, within the framework of these relations, turn into elements of "cultural capital" that provide political profit... We see that these specific political community formations form the real basis of conceptions of political representation. The author offers a rich conceptual discussion along with rich observations on how fellow townspeople, family ties, patriarchy, and identity affiliations are established and function within local political socialization networks. The political anthropology approach, which sees politics as a multidimensional human activity, opens a wide horizon for this study.
