Hatıralarım - Osman Sebrî
- Translated from Kurdish: Abdullah Koçal
There are such figures in human history that they have expressed the truth as long as they have been breathing; They showed the honor of not sacrificing the truth/truth for their personal concerns. One of those who maintained this noble stance despite many costs such as prison, torture, exile and execution was Apê Osman Sebrî.
Osman Sebrî, who was born in Narince village of Kahta in 1905, is the son of the leader of the Mirdês Tribe. He was raised by his uncles after losing his father at an early age. His uncles were executed by the Independence Tribunal in 1926 on the grounds that they supported the Sheikh Said Rebellion; He was sentenced to exile. After returning from exile, after shooting a lord who betrayed them, Sebri went to Syria and continued to participate in active politics there as a member of the Xoybun Party. Osman Sebri's work titled My Memories , which continues his struggle in the cultural field with his works written in Kurdish, illuminates the dark aspects of many political events and personalities of his time.
In My Memoirs , Osman Sebri talks about many historical events, from the Independence Tribunals to Cemilê Çeto, from the Bedirxans to Seyid Rıza, from the Sheikh Said Rebellion to the Xoybun Party, from the Ağrı Resistance to Cemil Pasazades, from Haco Axa to Reşuyanlı Hacı Bedir Bey. He expressed the person and the event with an objective criticism. However, one/some of his comrades in Syria, who were disturbed by Sebri's justified criticisms, "lost" the sections of this work entrusted to them by the author, covering the year 1931 and later.
