Raw Soil
Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenyev (1818-1883): He is one of the 19th century Russian writers whose works were first translated in Europe and in our country. He is remembered as the only Russian writer of his time with a European perspective. Raw Soil, published in 1877, is Turgenev's last novel. Raw Soil, along with his previous novel, Smoke, is one of the author's harshest works about the revolutionary movements in Russia. Turgenev, who sarcastically displays the conservative attitudes of the Russian nobles masked with liberalism in Raw Land, immortalises the anti-tsarist, fearless, honest and idealist young people who have no other purpose than serving the people and liberating them, with his unique lyrical style.
