The accuracy of the information that has survived to this day about his life is also controversial. Hafez brought groundbreaking innovations to Iranian poetry. In his poems, he deals with life, worldly blessings and emotions arising from daily events. He used words such as tavern, wine, cupbearer, belle, and rose with their real meanings rather than as metaphors. Hafız-ı Şirazî, the founder of the ghazal language, is one of the first poets to observe the unity of subject in poetry, which only considers the integrity of the couplets. His poems were appreciated by the public as well as appreciated in art circles, and his divan was used as a fortune-telling among the public regarding romantic relationships and fortune.
