Don't Laugh - Hasan Ali Yücel Classics
Henri Bergson (1859-1941): He is the representative of the intuitionism school in Western philosophy. He achieved great fame in his lifetime and received the Nobel Prize in 1927. Although interest in his works decreased after the Second World War, it maintains its important position in the philosophy of the late 19th century and early 20th century. He also deeply influenced thinkers who came after him, such as Gilles Deleuze, Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger. In this work, which was first published in 1900 and contains his essays on laughter, he investigates the meaning of laughter, the conditions that lead to laughter, and the social functions of laughter.
