Frankenstein
Young scientist Victor Frankenstein, who thinks he knows the secret of nature and life, creates a monster from corpse parts. The monster, released from Victor's control, becomes "human" enough to complain about lovelessness and loneliness and asks his creator to create a mate for him. Victor's choice at this point will turn into the tragedy of an entire humanity that avoids confronting the monster it created. Frankenstein, which has become an archetype in many modern arts, from cinema to theatre, from popular TV series to cartoons, is in Turkish with its first publication dated 1818.
“Frankenstein's monster helps us understand how difficult it is for the ruling classes to accept the idea that all people are equal. Frankenstein's invention is a spectacular metaphor for the capitalist production process.”
