Fıllaname

Fıllaname, which brings together all the works of Mıgırdiç Margosyan, who will celebrate his 80th birthday this year, is being published in a one-time special edition. Known especially for his stories and narrative texts about Diyarbakir, Margosyan's works have gained great appreciation and reached a wide readership since 1992, when they were first published in Turkish. While Fıllaname brings together the five books written by the master author since then, it is enriched with artist Emre Zeytinoğlu's drawings inspired by Margosyan's stories and the introduction text. The book, with a thick cover and printed in color, offers a great opportunity for loyal Margosyan readers and those who want to get acquainted with the literature of the master author.

The literary work of Mıgıdic Margosyan, who gives a lifeline to the fading social memory of the region with his colorful stories about the daily life in Gâvur District and its surroundings from the 1915s to the 1940s and from there to today, is almost a walking encyclopedia of Diyarbakır with his valuable testimonies about the people of the region, their traditions and customs. Its productivity was always very valuable for Diyarbakır.

However, especially after the heartbreaking final state of Sur, which includes the Gâvur District and which has been virtually erased from the face of the earth due to the operations carried out in recent years, Margosyan's stories and narratives gain another meaning and another value. Fıllaname , which brings together all the author's works, ceases to be a mere book under these conditions, and becomes a source that carries the lost voices of the past to the future and is still ongoing.
