Fenichka
Although Lou Andreas-Salomé cannot be described as a "feminist" in the modern sense, she became a role model for generations of feminists with her independent and libertarian life. He came to the fore with his friendships with important figures such as Nietzsche, Rilke and Freud and his influence on them. As one of the first women to study at European universities, her relationships with men followed a different course compared to women of her age. Fenichka is based on an experience Andreas-Salomé had with the German playwright Franz Wedekind, which later became the subject of the libretto of Alban Berg's opera Lulu. It is the story of a woman from Moscow, who did her doctorate in Switzerland and does not care much about traditional inter-gender relations, told through the eyes of a male psychologist. While the narrator progresses his friendship with Feniçka throughout the course of the work, he always sees women in certain patterns; They learn to see themselves as human beings, instead of seeing them as either man-hunters or genderless beings who stand out solely with their mental capacities.
