Of course, the best thing is for philosophy lovers to have direct contact with the works of philosophers. However, this is not an easy task for the book reader who is overwhelmed by the difficulty of mastering the ever-expanding philosophical corpus on the one hand and the increasing pressure of daily pursuits on the other.

The need for a guide whose judgments can be trusted is probably obvious for systems of thought that need to be understood as to their origins and the necessity of their following each other.
