Of course, the best thing is for philosophy lovers to have direct contact with the works of philosophers. However, this is not an easy task for the book reader who is overwhelmed by the difficulty of mastering the ever-expanding philosophical corpus on the one hand and the increasing pressure of daily pursuits on the other.

The need for a guide whose judgments can be trusted is probably obvious for systems of thought that need to be understood as to their origins and the necessity of their following each other. Thanks to its penetrating power of isolation and its selective criticism filter, the history of philosophy will no longer be the dry story of systems that follow each other endlessly, but will at least begin to be seen as a set of meaningful attempts to unravel the mystery of the enigma of existence. The place and value of each philosopher and his teaching in this history will be illuminated in the light of the judgment to be made regarding this contribution.

What if such guidance is provided by a philosopher from within, who has also tried to contribute to the solution of this enigma, rather than by an outside, professional historian of philosophy? And if he is a thinker like Schopenhauer, who does not mince his words and says what he has to say directly, without twisting the words...?

To examine the vast valley of the history of philosophy with the eagle eyes of a philosopher, not with the guidance of the professional historian's formulaic classification methods, stale description and definition patterns, and to observe it with his strong intuitions and sharp insights: what the book promises to its reader is nothing less.
