Denis Diderot (1713-1784): One of the most important writers and thinkers of the Enlightenment period. He became the editor-in-chief of the Encyclopédie, and in addition to writing literary and philosophical works, he translated them to earn a living. Among the speeches in this book, "D'Alembert" was published in 1830, "La Maréchale" in 1776 and "Abbot Barthélemy", which was later found, was published in 1920. "D'Alembert" talks covered evolution, the order of the universe, life and death; The speech of "Abbot Barthélemy" covers the subjects of prayer, god, soul, and the afterlife; The speech "La Maréchale" includes the questioning of the equation between religion and morality. The speeches can be considered as premature ideas about dialectical materialism, the theory of evolution, and morality, considering the topics they cover. Diderot attracted attention not only with his thoughts but also with the way he presented these ideas in the form of speech.
