Faşizmin Kitle Psikolojisi
When Wilhelm Reich's (1897 - 1957) work titled Character Analysis was first presented to the reader, it was described by critics as "the best and most radically thought out of everything that has been said on the subject of psychology" up to that point. The book was soon banned in Nazi Germany. Character Analysis was only reprinted in the USA in 1945. Since then, this masterpiece has contributed greatly to the development of psychotherapy. Although changes have been made, the basic ideas discussed in Reich's book have been adopted in many therapy methods.
Reich opposes Freud's interpretation analysis to behavioral analysis, which proceeds step by step through various layers of repression, starting from body language. He determined that the release of muscle tension releases sexual energy, which eliminates deviant behavior, and based on this, he developed the understanding of vegetative currents. This understanding formed the basis of biopsychiatry based on orgone therapy, which Reich later developed.
