It focuses on the beliefs held and actions taken by fascists in six European countries - Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Spain - where fascism has become the dominant political ideology, and examines individuals' motivations for becoming fascists. It deals with the conflicts in modern society, especially in the crevices of class conflicts, and the way in which the problems that give fascism the opportunity to flourish transform into fascist states, the most extreme form of the nation-state. It reveals the mechanisms by which violence, as a way of reflecting the problems between social classes, can take over societies.
