Aesop's Story
Author: Fibas Asteris, Themas Rodanthis
Aesop, mentioned by Herodotus as a slave who lived during the time of Croesus, is considered to be the creator of fable-type stories. However, the origin of this genre, which also has an important place in Eastern literature, probably dates back further. In the beginning, the stories circulated by word of mouth, B.C. VI. It was written down by Aesop in the century. In these stories, which are claimed to be one of the oldest examples of Greek written literature, the heroes are chosen from animals. Thus, human evil and weaknesses were criticized in animal images, without hurting or angering anyone. Aesop's stories were first published in B.C. It was compiled in 10 books by Demetrios Phalereus in 300, and secondly by a poet named Babrios in 100 AD. In Roman literature, Phaedrus (1st century AD) was inspired by Aesop and wrote the same kind of stories. In the last stories told in this book, it is seen that Aesop died in Delphi. According to Herodotus, the Delphians persistently investigated to whom they should give compensation for the death of Aesop.
