  • Autonomy within the framework of the modern democratic state first emerged in the Aland Islands in 1921. These power-sharing concepts were subsequently implemented on all continents and were operational in at least 60 regions and 20 states in 2009. Particularly, after World War II, the idea of protecting ethnic and national minorities and autonomy as self-determination disputes became a political reality in India as well as in various European countries. Autonomy should be considered a “work in progress” that is constantly challenged to adapt to new requirements put forward by modern societies. A dozen academics and experts from ten countries contributed to this study with articles describing the most relevant case studies in Europe, while also writing about the latest major developments taking place in the major countries of South Asia. It is a modest effort to discuss and engage its readers with this short guide, hopefully paving the way for autonomy, protecting minorities and resolving ethnic conflicts in South Asia and Europe. Italian researcher and writer Thomas Benedikter invites us to look at the issue of autonomy from a broader perspective with his book "Autonomous Regions of Europe" published by Aram, followed by his book "Solution of Ethnic Conflict through Self-Government". With this book, Benedikter offers a brief guide to autonomy in Europe and South Asia.

Bulunmayan kitapların bulunduğu, kaliteli hizmetin adresi, ender bir kitapevi...İsminin kürtce olması da ayrıca sebeb-i tercîhim...
