Osep Tokat, the author of the book, who states in the foreword of Armenian Silver Masters that his deep love for silver led him to work in this field, believes that art or craft belongs not to a nation, but to all humanity, and that cultural monuments and works should not be destroyed, altered or appropriated to others. He says that he created this book in order not to remain indifferent in the face of such unpleasant facts. Tokat dedicated his book to his mother and father, Ovsanna Sargsyan-Tokat and Bedros Anbedyan-Tokat, who survived in 1915 and were able to save a handful of exquisite works of art.

The book includes photographs of items from the author's family archive, such as silver belts, thimbles, and amber rosaries, as well as images of many works in which silver workmanship has risen to the level of "art". Through these images, it can be seen that silver art is used in religious symbols, jewelry, sacred book preservation, tobacco cases, ornaments, coats of arms, and portraits. Photographs also show that silver workmanship was considered acceptable as women's jewelry in rings, bracelets and necklaces on important occasions such as engagements and weddings; It also testifies that it was used in daily life items such as food containers, whips, umbrella handles, perfume boxes, cigarette holders, tea strainers, snuff boxes, amulets, combs, eyeglass cases, egg cups and pens.
